here are the 3 prevailing ideas about what the drawn agugus are (not the photo-edited ones but the illustrated ones):
1) The most literal approach: actual baby versions of the 'zelligs. This is the version most people accept, but it doesn't fully explain why they look so weird and why mymy has natural orange hair and blue eyes.
2) The original approach: The agugus are different, caricaturised characters based on the 'zelligs, but technically not the same as them. This is the approach I personally follow when making agugus. Think about it like this: What would a trio of binky googy baby characters be like if they were based on the 'zelligs? Mymy would be the mischievous and selfish baby, Coco would be the kind but dumb baby that breaks everything, and Maya would be the silent and shy baby that cries all the time, and all together they would be dumbed down, simple and fun characters. Not the actual zelligs, but a mirror of them.
3) The weird approach that might explain why they look so weird: The agugus are tiny hamster-sized creatures that are something else entirely. The original agugu illustrations were inspired heavily by the distorted edits people made, with huge eyes and super weird shapes, if you've seen the original edits you understand why the illustrated agugus look that way, but to someone that hasn't seen the original edits of the screenshots from Ongezellig, they might not understand why the agugus look so strange, and they might come to the conclusion that they are some sort of strange creature. This is not a standart approach but it's gemmy and adds to the absurd humor of agugus.

I don’t know if something like this has already been done on the zarty but I thought a monthly art project might be a fun community event. We could suggest topics, themes, characters, etc. that we want to see or make and then vote on a google poll in the first few days of the month. Then throughout the rest of the month we’d post art related to the poll winning theme. It would be fun to see different zaryans’ takes on a prompt.

Are incredibly unsubtle in what it's trying to say. <Coco lost her parents! So she's like, le scared of death! So, she'd like thing that live forever and she'd like, wanna live forever!
Change her animal to something more realistic, as with all of the animals in South Africa, I doubt a child would pick something as ugly as a jellyfish. Change what she wants to be to something like a nurse or a vet, which shows she's always liked helping people (which is realistic!!!)
It's really, really on the nose.
Overall with this one: Very on the nose, and doesn't feel like a child wrote this.
