I feel like I've noticed something about Ongezellig that nobody has really brought attention to or talked about since its release.
People like to paint this picture that Maya is a mentally ill freak (ADD aka Autism Denial Disorder, Anxiety, Depression) amongst mentally healthy peers, when that isn't really the case.
For example, Coco may seem like a caring, loving, happy individual and well… she is, but have you noticed that she seems to desperately want validation from Maya? Coco stays suffocatingly close to her, and tries to include her in as many activities as she possibly can, in spite of Maya being ONGEZELLIG.
I believe that underneath her easygoing exterior she has a guilt complex and PTSD.
Guilt because of things that either weren't her fault or were the fault of Maya's parents (Maya lost her cat because of Coco's allergies and Maya didn't get the attention she so desperately needed to properly develop because Coco (and Mymy) received such a disproportionate amount of it), and PTSD because her parents met an untimely end.
As for Mymy, she's a sadomasochist with dissociative identity disorder.
She loves humiliating and teasing Maya (Mymy left her tied up and made fun of her like a selfish little fuck) (SADIST), and seems to intentionally get herself hurt (getting herself thwacked in the head by Vera with a bottle after trying to start a "schoolocaust" with a Nerf gun) (MASOCHIST).
She also clitty leaks if you mention her true ethnicity and reverts to speaking Japanese (DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER).
Consider the 'boers DIAGNOSED.

>>104908Maya is a textbook example of what happens to someone who isn't given the attention they need. People who don't get a lot of attention from their parents tend to blame themselves for it, believing they're not good enough.
