Because I've seen antisocial and reclusive women in real life and they have not been good-looking, but if they had been, I personally would have overlooked their mental problems to a great extent. Unfortunately, yes, probably. Appearance somehow is very important even in todays rational world and I'd better be with someone pretty than rich. Maybe I am a degenerate maybe this is the natural behaviour of human male.

The same people who go OMGSISA pass by the same exact thing they're looking for everyday. But either ignore it or are not aware of it because said people are invisible to the untrained eye. If you just put in the effort to look around you, you'll recognize them too. Maybe that guy at the back of the class who always goes his own way or , or that one girl who at first glance is just a bit uglier than normal, but who doesn't seem to stick around the circles of people. These people, they don't want an actual "X GF" but an object they can fix. Same thing happens to women: the most popular fantasy is "taming the beast". I am not shitting you, women fantasize about a burly man or "a savage", a broken man, who they can civilize or somehow save. I knew a girl in high school who was very much like Maya: could've been really attractive if she got herself in order, had a mixed ethnic background and was out of place in the country, didn't talk to people. But I did not know her thoughts, I did not know her worries, and not under pain of death would have have told anyone. That's the difference: you have a deep personal connection to Maya.

I'd say on a scale from 1 to 10 these are the 1s and 2s. Usually women always shoot 5 positions higher (or more) when searching for a male. That's why sometimes you see those landwhales seething about "muh good men"
That depends on the personality, intelligence and time preference of a woman. A smarter, more long term oriented woman won't try to get a man of much higher value than herself, because that leads straight to becoming a single mother.

I know two girls who are very different to eachother, one being similar to Maya and the other to Mymy.
The girl who is similar to Maya is 26, doesn't have a finished career, believes in crystals and numerology, is planning on studying theatre and lives with her mom. But she is so fucking cute I can't stop thinking about being with her, I know if she wasn't attractive or my type I would not have talked to her in the first place.
The girl who is similar to Mymy is also 26, but she has a career, has said holocaust jokes in front of me and I met her in my Christian youth ministry, it doesn't feel like she's being dishonest either. But I haven't even thought for one minute about being with her because she's not attractive, if she was, I would probably want to marry her.
