I don't get how some would write that, especially when 99% of Zaryans are more similiar to Maya than Coco for example. Mymy doesn't even need to be compared for obvious reasons
I wrote it because I found it funny and because she deserves it. Coco has offered her help and love on multiple occasions, and EVERY single time she rejects it if she can. She lies about being sick when they get up early for her birthday, she insults her when Coco is honest about her intentions in Deel 5. She shows ZERO remorse for what she has done, and tells her to "get typhus" when she goes off daydreaming afterwards.
If she were to be actually bullied by Coco, it might even help her. Maybe she would realize how kind her sister was to her. She might appreciate Coco then and try to better herself to be deserving of her once more.
I broke down my insufficient system that was causing me to exists similarly to how Maya is and came out better. Maybe Maya could also grow from some trauma. It helped me, might just help her.

Tbh, each sister has own issues which are displaying in their characters and relationships. Maya's attitude towards Coco also isn't just a blind aggression, it's much more deep and undercover things that we almost can not describe (although we may try) but can feel. Writing as a Cocodeity, what's very illustrative.

Thanks for pointing me to the thread. I recognized my own comments twice, and the rest of the serious conversation reminded me why I stopped engaging with Ongezellig. I needed the reality check.

I could say that Maya simply refuses to believe that someone like her can wish for happiness and goodness. We see this, for example, in the scene with the computer in 4th deel. Ultimately, she tries to find a way out through escapism, ignoring the pressing problems and simply putting up with them. Looking those in the eye is like death for Maya, which is a reason why she reacts so nervous and unrestrained to Coco’s desires to help. Perhaps, Maya understands that Coco is trying to help her and is almost the only person truly close to her (see island part in deel 6: I certained that she would say "Coco" after she said "the only friend that I need...", but Massa interrupted it developed the presentation sujet line). But, anyway, she's too afraid to open up to anyone to solve her problems. Even to Coco. Not secret that she sees some mockery in Coco's attempts, in particular because of how, sometimes, stupid Coco acts when comes to defusing the situation for Maya repose. Obviously, Coco understands the need of that, and therefore behaves accordingly. The main thing is that she was doing it out of sincere intentions. Our lil gooner is just unable to accept anyone's help due to own nihilistic worldview, so each such intention is felt by her as a temporary excruciation, not as a necessary solution. And it's ruefully as fuck.
And yeah, Maya had behaved herself wrong at 5th deel. But do not pretend that there was no reason for it.

I don't think characterizing Maya's actions as "mean words" does it justice. Coco offered help and convinced Mymy to help too, and in response Maya hurts her where she is most vulnerable.
I don't know how much of the things we see can be taken literally. I don't think we are meant to interpret Mymy as someone who holds her toy rifle to be an actual weapon with which she can pressure her teacher into giving in. Similarly, I don't think we are meant to interpret Coco's actions as death threats, moreso as an excessive reaction.
In the 40 minute Q&A that leaked, Massa talks about Coco "understanding the value of family" and that she is somewhat lead by guilt to help Maya because of the cat.
Last point kinda links itself to the whole "social pressure" point I've made earlier. If she really does have genuine intentions (which I still heavily believe she hasn't) her mannerisms are as useful as trying to ride a bicycle with just a wheel, so downright useless.
The cookie cutter "help" she tries to give simply won't work with Maya, because Maya herself doesn't believe she actually gets in which situation she's in. Coco treats her like a problem to fix, making things worse overall.
she is not a one dimensional character so she has her flaws including maybe violent tendencies, massa probably would have expanded on this if he actually made the series, this does not make her any less loving of her sister even though she has problems in judgment for a few seconds sometimes
Its not like coco is even trying to fix all of mayas problems, she literally just doesnt want her to fail school and wants to spend time with her sister and give her some company since she knows maya never talks to anybody else. There is nothing malicious or not genuine about it
