I don't know how much of the things we see can be taken literally. I don't think we are meant to interpret Mymy as someone who holds her toy rifle to be an actual weapon with which she can pressure her teacher into giving in. Similarly, I don't think we are meant to interpret Coco's actions as death threats, moreso as an excessive reaction. In the 40 minute Q&A that leaked, Massa talks about Coco "understanding the value of family" and that she is somewhat lead by guilt to help Maya because of the cat.
