It's demotivating as hell, and it's messing with my drive to do anything, she has completely burned my brain. I can't feel attracted to any girl, I have no more drive for doing anything, what's the point? Maya isn real afterall. She makes me feel empty and hopeless in a way I have never felt before. It's like I've set this impossible standard for real-life relationships based on a character that doesn't even exist. I have never had to deal with this before, so I may have noticed it too late, but I've tried distracting myself with other things, other activities, but nothing works. I keep coming back to her, to Ongezellig, rewatching it and consuming everything related to her, it's like a vicious cycle. The more I watch, the more attached I get, and the more it hurts knowing she's not real, I've even started daydreaming about meeting someone like her, but it just feels so far-fetched, why couldn't I have been a Mymy/Cocofag? All the scenes she's portrayed in, when shes daydreaming and lets her hair down imagining a different world, it makes me feel like I'm seeing the real her, the part she keeps hidden from everyone else. Those small, intimate glimpses into her make her feel so real and relatable even if I don't have a similar life, and yet she's just a figment of some 30yr old Dutch guy imagination. It's so hard to stay motivated, I feel like I'm losing my grip on reality 66 replies omitted.

A new petje update released a couple of minutes ago. After "The combination of a burnout, a new life stage, a difficult pitch phase, a limited support and a successful side" and 4 years, Massa is cancelling the monthly ongezellig illustrations, and with it, any and all potential for more ongezellig content whatsoever.
<Thank you again to everyone who contributed. I hope you are still happy with the results that you have been able to make true. Remember, Ongezellig not as a failed pilot, but as a successful short film.

Ok Zaryans, I've read a decent amount of fanfics since I joined this GEMMY SPACE and I've decided to rank them all (the ones I felt like)

Reunion. 5/10: It's ok, the pacing is kinda quick for what it's trying to do, and it feels the needs to explain everything instead of letting the reader interpret it.

Death and Reborn, 7/10: I would've given this a 9, but I re-read it and realized it wasn't as good as I remembered. I do like the concept, but it also suffers from bad initial pacing and overexplaining. Also it was assisted with AI and it kinda shows in some parts, but it didn't hinder how I felt about it. Pretty decent, but it could be better
10 Dutch Days, 2/10: Really annoying dialogue. They won't shut up about the stupid game Maya played, and mentioning important things which are never brought up again. Everything feels forced, and I just don't care about any of the characters. It's a decent concept, having the personalities of Coco and Maya somewhat swapped (doe Maya still kinda has anxiety), but it's so poorly executed I can't give it any higher than a 2/10

Tipping Point, 6/10: Coco hits Maya cause she got mad over an insult. The family kinda collapses from there. It's not finished yet so idk how it's gonna end. Decent storytelling though it's not very descriptive, and has pretty akward dialogue at times. Also Coco acts really out of character in this, and the Eiko plotline is shoved in which completely derails the entire thing.
Project Ongezoid, -3 Thrembillion/10: One of the only Zellig Fanfics on Watpad. I would've given it a 9/10, but for SOME REASON, THE CREATOR MADE AN AMAZING AND kinda EMOTIONAL STORY, AND DECIDED TO MAKE THE ENDING "IT WAS ALL A DREAM!!" WHY??? IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD AND YOU RUINED IT YOU SELFISH NIGGER

Comfortably Uncomfortable, 7/10: The Title sums up how I felt while reading it. This is the length of an average novel GEG. Maya and Coco essentially fall in love (in a natural way) but because they're sisters, it just feels weird. I know they're not blood related but it's still a bit weird. ALTHOUGH, it never made me that uncomfortable throughout, though it did get close at times.
There's no incest (cause incest needs 1. the people to be blood related and 2. actual sex, which is not present in the thing)
Overall, it was a decent read, but it really should've been between Maya and Someone Else, or just have Maya and Coco getting closer instead of falling in love.

why is the plotbeat always like "something happens, maya gets depressedorino or suicidalorino" but never do it in a realistic or satisfying way. there's never enough buildup, and it starts with Maya in a worse mental state instead of building to get to that point and THEN having her getting better
though this could just be because people wanna include this stuff in their first works when they don't have the fundamentals, which is a common pitfall in writing
