Nice desktop OP, mine needs to reconfigured because it is over patched and ugly. When I get a Thinkpad x200 I will likely try get linux-libre working (probably fall for the gentoo or void meme though), I am currently on arch.
Give me zellig wallpaper ideas, currently it is a purple gradient.

>x200
I've thought about getting x200 but the only advantages are the (sightly) better chassis and being able to complete disable IME.
The x220 has a better screen, better/more ram, better screen and a much better CPU.
If you're fine with a shitter keyboard/is able to change keyboards look into the x230 the objective best with the only downside being the keyboard.
>linux-libre
Its a meme. If you want security use openbsd. Not that hard to learn and wayyyy more secure.
>gentoo or void
Never use void it's a meme. And only use gentoo if you have a reason to (custom compiler flags). Don't change your OS because someone on /g/ said so. At most remove systemd but only do it if you have a good reason too.
Also get a fresh st/dmenu/dwm. Only add things you need eg battery life in dmenu or make st scrollable. Its just wasting battery life and your eyes to over bloat it.
If you hsvrany question s just ask

Completely disabling IME is a big plus for me (I'm very schizophrenic)
>Never use void it's a meme
Thought as much, BTRFS which IIRC comes with void (ext4 is probably an option but unsupported) also has lots of issues apparently, I had some idea that void was immutable or had snapshotting or something but that appears to be false, maybe I'm thinking of Nix
I like the idea of Gentoo and the ultra optimization, I would want to be able to have the most minimal machine possible, although Artix would probably be enough
>battery life in dmenu
Do you mean dwmblocks? What would you use dmenu for battery life wise? As for the former I feel that the information I have there currently is pretty basic, maybe playing song is unnecessary but what would you consider bloat on there?
>Also get a fresh st/dmenu/dwm
Yeah I will probably get to this eventually
>make st scrollable. Its just wasting battery life and your eyes to over bloat it.
Yeah this is my desktop but when I do get the x200 I should optimize everything for battery life considering it's like 15 years old kek

>If you hsvrany question s just ask

Thank you, I sort of understand what that says.

>Completely disabling IME is a big plus for me
can you give me a reason why's its a big plus? If you sont know other than
>its just le bad and i need it gone
Youre just making your daily driver slower than another librebooted laptop eg x220. on the x220 its so lobotomized that its basicly disabled (iirc the only thing still working is a 8kb chip that's only input is a little bit of power so it thinks its working)
>BTRFS which IIRC comes with void
btrfs works on any distro that let's you change it. I've personally used ext4, btrfs and vfs on gentoo and both vfs and btrfs are worse as a daily driver. Again if you don't actually need to change your filesystem don't.
The only disadantage to ext4 is that windows/Mac have a driver for it so it can read from it. But unless you're connecting your boot drive to a infected windows machine you don't need to worry about it.
>I'm thinking of Nix
Not super familiar with nix but I do think it has snap shooting
>Do you mean dwmblocks?
I mean cat'ing the file that stores my battery capacity
Ill send my config when I get home with a screenshot of my desktop.
>Yeah I will probably get to this eventually
Dwm is meant to be simple. If you want a bloated ui just use KDE or plasma (trvth nvke)
>I sort of understand what that says.
Yea sorry slight spelling mistake.

Have you actually looked into the x200 apart from listening to retards on /g/? This daily driver will only have about 2 hours battery life with an extended battery. Its not a very good daily driver as it always needs to be plugged in.
Im very proud of you that you beat level 1 of overthewire but I can assure you that the CIA isn't going to use a x200 ime exploit that has never been discovered on you. Just get a t480 if you want 32gb ram and a t480s (the better of the two) with a max of 24gb ram (basically only difference). You don't even need 24gb ram btw if you want to use that much ram just use a desktop.
Stop larping and get an actual working mans laptop (t480s)
Also use openbsd if you want security linuxlibre is the biggest meme of all time (it fucks up software support)

The only way to be completely safe is to use templeos on a t60 as templeos doesn't even have a network stack.
And I assume you have idea what you're talking about because you actually think disabling the IME on a x200 is better than on a x220. Give me one example where someone was caught because of a IME exploit (there's none)

still got some stuff to configure but it looks alright i guess. i wonder what the percentage of zaryans that use linux is. presumably much higher than the global average
