It's the first episode, you can't expect to know exactly what role she was going to play. I think its good to have one person that Maya is comfortable talking as in deel 1. Plus I feel like Maya would probably take her anger out on Mymy more than Coco with how unseriously she takes her. Plus not everything has to revolve around Maya. Mymy has an interesting dynamic with Coco and what we know of the other characters

She's more than a comic relief but the character that is the most level-headed and with no drama, she lifts off tension from both what's happening between Coco and Maya

I feel like her character can pretty easily lend herself to a lot of drama. All it takes is Maya or especially Coco to point out her larp or for Mymy to call cleo or Maya a shitskin invader or something. And that's without Kiki or any other side characters

this is gay revisionism, she is meant to relieve the audience comedically due to the depressing subject matter of ongezellig as a whole. she's also acts like an anchor to maya irrespective of her aggressive teasing, maya doesn't seem to be uncomfortable around her like she is with others.
