There were definitely some of us who wanted to grow the general fanbase, I remember some posts with this sentiment.
Although I think we all realized deep down that no matter how much we shilled ongezellig, it was never continuing.
For me and I think the majority here, it was about growing the zaryan population by introducing ongezellig to chuddy people and places.

I was always ambivalent towards which individuals we should have shilled to. On one hand a continuation of Ongezellig (even with normiefags "invading") would have been a major win, and the argument of "zaryans saved ongezellig" would have been sweet. And on the other keeping it "chud only" would have been a testament to gatekeeping done right. But now that we know what Massa's intentions are the first point falls moot. The only sensible option is to grow the zaryan population and hold out as long as possible
