Jesus Christ, that thread contained some of the most pessimistic and joyless people I have seen this week. They are attempting to tear down what is practically just some storyboarding with some early animation released as a simple update, scrutinizing it to the level that one would for a completed work. It simply baffles me how people can be this negative about this, do they not understand that this is not the final product? It's like they're screaming at the foundations of a house because it has no furniture.
To answer your question, how did the Quack react to this? He got back to work while noting down and acting upon the genuine concerns and suggestions of people that weren't just there to scream at a framework.

Because you don't have to be a psychic to know that the whole entire thing will look like this mess upon release. If that wasn't the case, you would scrap what you got and start over, not fucking publish it on Youtube surrounded by walls of text stating the finished product will never ever ever never look this bad its just a placeholder i promise. If you want to keep Ongezellig alive then you should spam Massa's inbox with this until he himself reaches out to you and personally tells you to stop.

Your argument hinges on exactly what I discussed, screaming at a framework. The reason the Quack released this was because it would instill a lot more hope and confidence than any block of text on a forum could. I completely understand your concerns, however if it somehow does end up looking like this upon release, then we move on and hinge our hopes upon Project ROY. What we shouldn't do is complain (not to be confused with giving valid criticism, as other people in this thread have done) on a forum or appeal to Massa, someone who has abandoned us and therefore should not be of any concern.

I'm not a "doomer" or whatever label you will come up with to describe me. I just don't see any sense anymore in getting hyped up for projects run by outsiders that become hostile for no reason and try to disassociate with us by every means possible. It's basic mental hygiene. As for it being a nothingburger, the initial release date was in May and all we have by the middle of July is the placeholder above.
