I did a quick search and found that the banana is from an album cover for The Velvet Underground & Nico. A feature of the cover was a banana sticker which revealed a pink banana underneath, the intention was phallic in the original album cover, but it is just a banana and not about anal. I don't know anything about the album I'm just rewriting what I found.
