It's the first episode, you can't expect to know exactly what role she was going to play. I think its good to have one person that Maya is comfortable talking as in deel 1. Plus I feel like Maya would probably take her anger out on Mymy more than Coco with how unseriously she takes her. Plus not everything has to revolve around Maya. Mymy has an interesting dynamic with Coco and what we know of the other characters

That's a great observation OP, clearly Mymy is /our/ chuddy SISA. Massa perfectly crafted her as a character to make her intriguing and entertaining for years. I still chuckle or smile when I see her parts in the show. After all these years, I have felt myself grow less interested in Ongezellig over all being less of a fan of Ongezellig and more of a fan of Mymy.

She adds a new perspective since she showcases the hardships of adopting someone who isn't of the same race into a white country. But she isn't some nigger or Arab parasite that hates it's host country. This was an observation I made way back in probably a long lost post now, Ongezellig is basically various aspect of Massa divided into the three girls. Each girl has a problem, but since it was just a pilot we only got to see Maya and a tiny bit of Coco, Mymy would have probably been explored (although in a much shallower way imo) in later episodes, which I think would have elevated the show to even greater heights
