It featured two pieces of paper, one with a simple line, and the other with three lines of varying length, except one that has the same length as the one in the first piece of paper. These papers were later given to two groups, a control group and a normal one, and asked to point out which of the three lines is the "correct one". In the control group, they inserted people who claimed that the longest line was actually the same as the original line (obviously wrong), and the majority of people in there were led to believe that the longest line was indeed the correct one, going as far as to demonize people in their own group for saying the opposite. The normal group had no problems instead, and correctly pointed out the line. It's called the Asch's experiment
