>"Nerd culture is the product of a late capitalist conspiracy, designed to infantalize the consumer as a means of non-aggressive control."
- Simon Pegg

>"A sweet-faced boy of twelve told me proudly that he had seen Star Wars over a hundred times? I said, 'do you think you could promise never to see Star Wars again?' He burst into tears. I just hope the lad, now in his thirties, is not living in a fantasy world of secondhand, childish banalities"

- Alec Guinness

>"I don't think they are making [comic book movies] an elevated art form, I think it's still just Batman running around in a stupid cape.. It's for kids, it's adolescent in its core. "

- David Cronenberg

>"I don't want to see or make films about super heroes that fly around in spandex and a cape solving the problems of the world. I think it's fine for children, children of all ages by the way, but it's not for me."

- William Friedkin

>“They have been poison, this cultural genocide, Because the audience is so overexposed to plot and explosions and raisin that doesn’t mean nothing about the experience of being human.”

- Alejandro Iñárritu

>"Superman makes me vomit, Batman and all of that. That whole empire… this religion… It is so important that superheroes suffer… I don't give a damn, I raisin on the United States."

- Alejandro Jodorowsky

>"To my mind, this embracing of what were unambiguously children's characters at their mid-20th century inception seems to indicate a retreat from the admittedly overwhelming complexities of modern existence"

- Alan Moore

>"It’s produced by humans who can’t stand looking at other humans. And that’s why the industry is full of otaku!"

- Hayao Miyazaki

>"The movies are for children but they don't want to admit that… There is a small group of fans that do not like comic sidekicks. They want the films to be tough like The Terminator, and they get very upset and opinionated about anything that has anything to do with being childlike."

- George Lucas

They are right.
Notice how normalGODS consume media. They see art they love, then move on with their lives.
While on the other hand, nerds waste their lives with what most of them couldn't make something out of it.
>BUT THIS IS LIKE MUH ZARYANS ON DA ZARTY
The thing is with he Zarty is that we've become more of a community that just people who love 'zellig. Yeah we aren't perfect, but we choose to make zems out of it. Instead of wallowing in sorrow after Update 130, we chose to stick together and keep on going through it, and some more.
Notice what happened to the sharty when they lost sight of what made the soysphere good. They forgot how to have fun and instead take everything seriously and obsess over things never worthy of giving effort too. I'm still so surprised how we managed to survive so many things that have happened to the entirety of the sharty while being seen as "hostile offsiters" by the same people we grew up with over time. The soyteens have become the same people they mock about - nerds who waste their lives on things that they never choose to mature with.
<
Instead of learning from the past, they forgot it all and are confused with what they have to do in the future.

This is the essence of soy, being obsessed with a piece of media and centering your life around it, making references constantly in your real life, which comes off as detached and weird. Nerd culture was really frowned upon around the start of the 2000s and some more after that, why? Pathetic, was the most used word, for weirdos, for losers. After all why would a man in his 30-40 whatever be obsessed with these kind of medias if not for a stumped mental growth, hence mocking the soyboy

This is also another problem with taking things too seriously, there's some fights worth fighting but usually the sharty is in this endless war against some vague target, there's never any rest or any fun.
And how we survived, that's easy. We got off at the perfect moment, if we would have stuck around after 2023 we wouldn't exist or 'zellig wouldn't be the colossus it is now. And those are not the same people we grew up with, it's clear they've been replaced from the first to the last one, like a ship of Theseus. The structure and all the familiar things are still there, but not who made up the site

Also they're right on nerd culture just look at 4chin

I dunno, much of it just sells fantasy and the the expectation that there are women out there that care about their lovers. Shallow as it may be, you cannot deny the fact that the market of lonely single males is ripe. But normally tranime is filled with pedonigger shit. It's disgusting how much of it is allowed. Freedom of speech and expression was a mistake.
