Destructive thinking has taken over much of imageboards. Cynicism and contrarianism is like a blindness that descended on these people. In their state, they trample over everything, good or bad. Because the mass does not care for constructive thinking, establishing and defending, shock value is their currency. This will go on and on into more transgressive territory - more shock, blasphemy, aggressiveness, emotionality, a lack of a clear and reasonable mind.
This relates more to /pol/itics and similar things on xitter (first and last time I went to that place, it's (un)surprising how brimmy that place is), but it can be applied generally, depends.
Do you really think those people have a coherent ideal they want to establish, or do they just want to piss off as many people as possible?
It's not easy for them, all this bitterness affects health in some way.
If you happen to see something which is good be ridiculed, it's not good to worry as much. If their criticism made sense, they would fix themselves first. Defending your stance with gentleness and honesty is good to a point where peace is still intact; after that, it's a waste of time.
