What version is recommended now? I played minecraft last time like 10 years ago

theres not really any "recommended" version, but 1.7.3 is for more chill and world development gameplay while beyond has more adventure and grinding (that's from my experience atleast)

1.21.1 is the version that currently has the most mods compatible with it so if you wanna make a modpack then start there.
