Zoot ignored all arguments and likely tries to forcibly move away zarty from the core zellig culture, it was to be predicted since zno, but when zno happend reaction was so negative that he had to concede

I'll play devil's advocate Zooty Zoot of zoiets and say why Zaryans still think it's best to make this with Ongezellig in mind still.
<LISTEN AND LEARN SPACE
Basing of the Mayamail idea, there's a good reason as to why it is called Mayamail, and not OCmail. It's supposed to be a short animation collage of everythin going on Maya's head. It's a great opportunity to build the bigger picture of who Maya could be, further than what Massa could've imagined. It's not being obsessed, it's just building up the foundations of what Ongezellig could become in the future. Just because fan work is fan work doesn't discount it of its value. A good example of how fan work elevates its source material are the many great mods for beloved games, such as Aether for Minecraft, Black Mesa and Entropy: Zero 2 for Half Life 2, Undertale Yellow for Undertale, and Blue Skies and World of Dreams for DDLC. Do they bring down the impact and value of the original work? No, but instead they grow onto the foundations they were built upon, and give us new ideas and perspective of the fictional stories we know and love.
We're in a unique idea and opportunity in history with having one of the only few talented chuddies using a pretty good animated show to base of the mind of a young person trying to understand life, through the eyes of Maya. It's not just the potential of growing Maya's character, but allowing us to know more about why people like her act the way they are, and help use see the world in a different perspective.
This all wouldn't qork out if we just switch to an entire new OC cast. Again, this is soyzellig.party after all, and all of us got connected together because of it. We wouldn't have a talented team if ot weren't for the Zaryans before us laying the land which we stand on.

I get your idea of trying to branch out the Zarty into a general OC imageboard, which I think it already is! We alreadg have a high-quality /oc/ board to prove that. But you must still remember that our basis for our works here in the site is always thanks to Ongezellig, and we can't simply remove that special sauce from it. I remember watching the Half Life 2 20th anniversary documentary where the devs reacted to the game being leaker before its release. Sure they got worried and scared on how people would perceive and steal their work, but would it be Half Life 2? No. Even if they can steal all of that source code for their own, they would never have the special sauce that is Valve.
Our special sauce is and would always be Zellig. It is the show that made us who we are today. It's the reason why we gather here. It's why we make this collaborative project right now. And it's the main reason for us to become an example for more keyed communities to be like in the future.

People are complaining about a project not being directly about Ongezellig (mind you, this is the first attempt at doing this and I have never removed any ongezellig OC before that).
People think that they HAVE to participate in that one project, because... they just have to, ok???
And of course, I am called a "bad" guy, because I am forcing everybody to "not post lig"? Oh, and I just HATE everybody here apparently. If I wanted to do so, I would have deleted /zellig/, banned lig posting and completely redesign the site (visually speaking), thus removing ALL connections that we had with the original soyteens that were apart of the lig subculture on pre-froot era sharty (I doubt that most are still here and active).
