Hello Everyone!
As most of you may know, i decided to stop continuing the zigle zogle animation.
A few may know that i said that i may be working on a comic.
Now, i wish to announce to everyone that Zigle Zogle shall continue as a comic! The only difference is that the characters will be changed to be more "original".
I tried to re-use the script for the animation as the script for the first comic. However, i had to heavily change it, as a lot of the dialogue felt forced (i dont promise it wont for the new version) and the ending wasnt really finished (now i am happy with the ending). Overall, the script is way better than before and i hope that you guys will enjoy it, even if little.
The first character that i wish to show is Peter. He is the MC of the story. Basically a uni student from the balkans, studying somewhere in Holland. He spends a lot of his time on the internet and is quite "ongezellig" as my fellow zaryans say ;D. Unfortunately for Peter he has to live with two other people, who are quite... "gezellig"!!1! öÖö

Hahaha well a lot of the character are sort of self inserts? They are a reflection of some of my thoughts and emotions connected with image boards (not always doe).
My idea for making the characters more "original" was because i plan to eventually animatie these comics when get a studio. I would be really restricted if i still have the pure ongezellig look (still using the Three Sisters, but with changed personalities). I still wish to take some parts from ongezellig (i wanna take for example Kiki for a "ss pirate LARP on the beach" episode)
Other than that the story hasnt changed as much as it has developed. for a long time i had no clue how this project would end (story wise; even the original end for the current script felt too rushed). Now i have a really cool idea, taking inspiration from LOTR, as to what the theme of the last comic/s would be.
Overall the biggest problem that i see rn is that i have no clue where to post the comic (except here obv). I could do voice dubs and upload it to YouTube and upload a pdf on pixiv (not sure what sites would be a good option). The other stuff, i feel confident that they will turn out well.
Last thing, i only uploaded a character showcase to keep you guys updated. I could also talk more about the script or any other topic

if i understood correctly, i wish to add this: i wish to create a studio, not wait for another studio to pick me up (good luck with finding someone to fund your IB based show in Bulgaria). It would be a better idea to organise your show yourself and try to actually fund it through merch and other means. I think that that's one of the reasons Massa failed. He coudnt gather enough money to quit his job and relied only on donations, even if a lot of people asked for him to make plush merch.
And from what i understand, he wanted a studio to pick him up AND for the show to air on TV. This is just ridiculous, since his demographic consisted of people (cave dwellers from around the world) who consume media through the internet, not television.

Because i still wish to continue the project? The concept was already different and "original" enough in its animation phase (it was more about the sharty than ongezellig). I dont see how making alteration would logically follow just dropping the project completely and going for something else.

Indeed that's the idea of the character. Although stupidness will also be a part of the mask as an attempt to return to innocens. He has a lot of bad experience with life, that's for sure.
What i didnt like about Coco was that her personality was a bit random. Sometimes she would be the typical childish blonde, sometimes she would be this smart individual with a deep and sad background. At first, i thought that Massa was doing the idea that i have, but nope, Coco is just a heckin quirky trans queen, who is smart...but also stupid?
The first comic isnt really going to focus on Mark (or adam) doe. maybe the next few will do. I already have an idea for an episode, where Mark takes over Adam's social club and tries to start a natsoc uprising "unintentionally"(mentioned in the livestream). Will figure out other stuff.

In my opinion, Massa's idea was not communicated very well. Iirc, Coco had A+ grades on every subject and was doing pretty well in school. She appeared well mannered and could improvise in every situation. I can understand the computer illiteracy, but her having zero knowledge of the different meanings of "mongoloid" and her not being able to recognising porn is absurd, unless its all an act in order to cope with previous trauma... which is not.
I understand that you can fit so much into just one pilot. I just think that Coco could have seen just a bit of corrections.

Today we drew Mark! Innocent and child-like on the outside, but dangerous and mysterious from the inside. Despite this illusion of his, what could be considered genuine is his kindness and desire to help others, especially Peter.
He is yet to forgive himself.

Zoot, you have been disappointed in Coco because she didn't meet your requirements for such a character like Mark («At first, i thought that Massa was doing the idea that i have, but nope...»). So was this the reason for the deviation from the original Ongezellig-related plot (referring to «I would be really restricted if i still have the pure ongezellig look (still using the Three Sisters, but with changed personalities), I still wish to take some parts from ongezellig»)? And what namely was «wrong» with Schoppenboers, especially with Schoppenboer-Potgieter? I didn't got an answer to this question yesterday, and today I just had no time to watch your stream (I barely have a will to watch it now, because I understand that it easier to you describe your point online, not in real time). I'm curious about what you wanted to see in Coco but could not.

To some extend yes. When i was planning zigle zogle out (still in its animation phase) the characters were already different from what massa said he planned from them. the only similarity was the basic concept of the shy guy, the good fellow and the trouble maker living together. There was no reason to keep the ongezellig skin (especially after ongezellig was finished).
The potential monetary gain (if the comic ever turns into an animated show) would have been hell if zigle zogle was just the "ongezellig soyjack parody".
Overall, it's just better to have it as my creation inspired by zellig (even massa agrees when saying "A little fanart at times is fine but taking inspiration from Ongezellig for your own creation is much more interesting.")
I do like the idea of Maya (and how she was portrayed), although i do think that her being mixraced beyond salvation wasnt that necessary (cool idea nonetheless). I really don't know what Massa planned for her problem's solution to be, but I am happy that Watamote wasn't a huge inspiration (that manga is dead as hell).
Mymy had a lot of potential. She already is the "ultranationalist" who would die for the Netherlands, despite her being a japanese larping as white. You could go for the tricky questions connected to ethnicity, nationality and culture in the 21st century and why do they hold any intrinsic value to begin with. But ig it's fine for her to just be the comedic character of the show. It also appears that she would have taken the eric cartman role of starting problems for the other two to fix, so we chill.
Coco is weird and could have been done better, as i have said already. Her parents just being killed by a lightning was disappointing. Nothing else is important about her past, which could have been expanded (for example, what happened to her right after her parents went dood, was she hopeless for a while until she was picked up by the schoppenboers, was she ever tempted to let loose and do some...illegal actions?). She just appears as an already perfect character, who just has a few bad memories.

Iirc, the pilot (and massa art) hinted at Coco doing great at school.
This could be a misremembrance on my part, since it was a long time since i saw episode. Atleast what i remember for sure is Coco having the necessary skills to study effectively and do homework tasks.
Massa did say that Coco is the antithesis of Maya, so it would make sense if my statement was the case.

Instead, i will either use crosshatching or just do grey colouring with low opacity. The crosshatching idea has the potential of making the comic more sovlful, but since i dont have much experience with it (specifically with ink crosshatching), i am not sure if can pull it off that well. Another plus is that it's going to fasten the goyslop making process (so comics are gonna get uploaded sooner).
Maybe i can be a SLF and make a colour version of the comics and hide them behind a paywall.

I wanted to say that i am soon to be finished with the first scene of the comic (6 in total). This has given me a better perspective for the dead line. By the end of the year or around January I will probably be done with half of the comic. I am not sure if this is an acceptable time period. I could also release scene by scene, since one is already a good chunk of pages. In this case, expect the first part to drop next month.
Besides on kofi, here and on youtube, I will also attempt to upload zigle zogle on webtoons.

Why I particularly don't like twitter is because it's a platform, heavily influenced by American politics. But i shall consider using it, since it's still free shilling.
I don't mind if people share my comic on other platforms tho.
The only good thing is that posts get a lot of traction (that's why most of the Ongezellig art is posted there and not here for example) and for being a (((social media))) it allows pretty much anything.

Well on its own this is simply a retelling of the original Zigle Zogle part that we all know and love but in a different artstyle, so I'll focus on that. It's an Aryan artstyle but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't miss the colored panels halfway in (maybe when he's in his own little world the panels get color, and when he's in real life it's simply white and black to signify that he doesn't see any appeal in living real life?)and I think that's about it for now, I am already soying over the next heckin' parts

Yes, the first part was more of a test to see what i can and can't do with a comic. The other parts will be the rest of what was supposed to be the full animation.

The reason as to why I switched to crosshatching is because colouring takes a lot of time and is a bit tedious. Crosshatching is a bit more enjoyable to do.
Your idea for the imagination parts to be with colour and IRL parts to be black and white (for the heckin symbolism of how real life is le bad) is an idea, which I have also contemplated. It's not bad on paper, but then comes the question "Which part could be made to be coloured and which not", since there are a lot of parts on the border between real and not real.
I will think about it more, but my main idea was to make comics faster. That's why i switched to black and white.

The only criticism I could give is that you need to develop your cross hatching skills, but I think you already knew that. Hatching has amazing potential once you master that form.

I did not. Infact, i think that a potential problem of Ongezellig was that the main cast was girls. This leads to a lot of the problems that they (mostly Maya) faced being ignored or romanticized (i.e. i want a depressed sack of potatos that will khs the moment she faces struggle in life, just like le heckin Maya!!1! öÖö).
I think that the main appeal of the show was the cool community and the jokes. If you dont have that, then you just have a good dutch cartoon. Nothing more.

I will try to fit two scenes in the next comic. If its practical, I might actually be able to finish by december or january.
But for now, i will have to deal with uni. Maybe i will try next week.
I will also try to both improve the crosshatching (drawing the lines around the form/object) and to fill and i will attempt to mix black&white panels with coloured ones
I drew a character sheet for the 4th "main" character - Charly the Chud. You may have noticed that he looks like a chudjak. This is because he is one of the characters distorted by Peter's imagination. In "The last Titan" he will dress as a 30 y/o wizard, but it will just be a LARP. I've been learning how to crosshatch with a dip pen. I think that there is a bit of a progress from the first part of the comic, but maybe i need to draw for a bit more to get the hang of it.

That's daisy. She is supposed to be the character in my animation inspired by the mayamails. I am half way done with my HRT so I will soon start with animation.
