Hey bbghast here. Progress on the game I’m making has been going unusually slow in general but also bc I’m taking a small break to work on a few fun simulation projects to see what will happen. I didn’t want to update you guys on the water system I’ve been working on until it was done but here’s what I got so far. Other than water I made a lot of changes like new plant abilities like going dormant or doing better in harsh conditions ect. And a lot of optimization too.

Specifics on the new features other than optimization is a new dormancy class given to bristle moss (I renamed moss to bristle moss) where if a plant is starving for long enough it will go dormant. The level of suspended animation depends on how healthy the plant is when going dormant. So a very healthy plant can be functionally immortal sleeping in suspended animation. And for moss I also gave it the ability to gain more nutrients from the ground depending how bad it is which is the opposite of what spore grass does (gain more nutrients depending how good the soil in the ground is) and gave bristle moss another class that makes it reproduce when full on energy regardless of its reproduction rate which was done to give bristle moss another more full healthy look. I also changed the textures of everything to make them more consistent.

Oh yea I also gave bristle moss another class seep capture class where it has a chance to catch nutrients being shared between the tiles that are closely around itself. I’m afraid that bristle moss is becoming a bit op even though it needs all of this to survive in the harsh environment I creates to kill off competition. So I’m going to have to think of ways to nerf bristle moss while still allowing it to survive in a extremely harsh environment

No it’s an ecosystem simulator. You spawn in species and must make a balance with as many species as you can. BUT I do plan on adding a plant and animal species which CAN mutate their abilities (called classes) with other preexisting classes. Like removing, adding, or changing the classes they have this changing their behavior and how they act. Theoretically these guys will be able to evolve.

No you create an ecosystem. The gameplay isn’t fully developed yet entirely but you will gain money depending on the complexity and size of the maps ecosystem. Money which you can use to spawn in new species and can use to change the environment. The gameplay you say is essentially just creative mode since this system isn’t added yet.

Those who don’t read the thread. Other than what I already mentioned what you’re looking at is the beginnings of an ecosystem simulation game I’m making where you build your own ecosystem. The falling blue stuff is nutrient rain and plants will need it in order to gain energy to survive. Plant lose health when without energy for long enough or from old age and will die once they lose all their health. I plan on plants needing water too to survive but that isn’t implemented yet. I will also add animals too it’s not just going to be a plant game obviously
