Not exactly, Russia has gained the land corridor to Crimea and it can be considered a minor victory, but it's not comparable to the initial goal of conquering whole Ukraine, Kiev included. Germans in 1918 at least made an attempt at Kaiserschlacht, while Russians continue to make pointless small scale attacks at unimportant cities while their land gains haven't grow much since March 2022. Putin is simply too risk-aversive to actually defeat the enemy.

The west is even more risk-aversive and instead of supplying all the required equipment to Ukrainians they keep them barely alive because of fear of escalation that will never happen. It's the gayest and most pointless war in the history. I guess it's just a consequence of having an aging population.
