Transparent prose is amazing! I've read Chekhov's short stories as an example of simple stories that are enhanced thoroughly by their content. It's fine if you disagree with my philosophy, otherwise it wouldn't be my work. Simple stories still work, but I chose a simple plot told in depth instead. Narrative clarity is one thing, and that is your emphasis. It isn't my priority, and, like my book says at one point, >That which is received is received according to the mode of the reveiver. It's fine that you disagree. I think that's the point.
