It is not unusual for dutch families to move away to a different part of the country because of work.
Also pretty much every family from all over the country with kids has gone to the Efteling, it's a typical thing so that fact does not support any claim either way.
The main reason why I think it is unlikely that the show takes place in Brabant is how Maya says "ik kom uit brabant eigenlijk" If they all still lived in brabant near her birthplace this would be a weird way of her saying this and if they lived in brabant it doesn't make much sense for coco to confuse maya being born in belgium if they still lived there.
I think it makes more sense that they moved out of brabant before or around the same time coco and mymy were adopted, so the confusions make more sense in with this context.
