I just re-watched the whole series and here are my final thoughts about the cartoon.
Overall the episodes were enjoyable but got less inspired and interesting as time went on. The first two were the best by far in terms of humor and plot, although the plot was solid for them all, apart from the last one which felt forced.
One thing which is noticeable is that the amount of effort put into each episode decreased over time. The first few episodes were filled with little jokes and references in the backgrounds which were entertaining to pause and find them, but after episode 3 there rarely were any. I said before that something was off with the newer episodes, and Oniondweller stating that he wasn't that interested anymore in making them later on explains the drop in quality and the loss of detail. 
Nonetheless, it is still an entertaining project that had funny moments in all episodes.
