>>93985 there are different ways to reach it. i wont tell which drawfag i am but what worked for me is redraw exercises, by looking at an art you like and copying it (not tracing, looking at it and trying to draw the same on the side). the thing you refer to as fundamental shapes with the boxes and cylinders helped later on with measurements when drawing from scratch but what helped me to develop an eye for understanding what looks pleasant was redrawing stuff
