>>80774 In the Netherlands, every farmer tries to claim that they are not Dutch, but rather a part of some random nieche minority with like 3 people. They will also say that the dialect that they speak (e.g Drents in Drenthe) is actually a whole different language and not just weird, broken, countryside Dutch. While Frisian is really kind of different, if you speak Dutch and English you will understand like 90% of it. Also every Frisian I ever met was basically Dutch, and if they wouldn't have mentioned it every 5 seconds that they are Frisian, I would have never noticed.
