In that sense, it makes Massa's actions regarding Ongezellig make so much more sense. He didn't try to expand Ongezellig to a wider audience and didn't take it to the next level in order to make it a show because in some way I feel he knew deep down that it couldn't be a show in the first place. It makes perfect sense, but at the same time it makes everything feel so much shittier. I just don't fucking get it if he knew somewhere at that back of his mind that Ongezellig was only made to be a "successful short film", and then constantly advertise it to be a pilot and promise to all of his fans for a full show out of it for years just to let them down. I just wish he had been honest about everything from the beginning. Just admit that he couldn't make Ongezellig ever be more than the 6 deels we got, and we could've all moved on from it so much easier.
