>>52186 >From a narration perspective, when the narrator suggests to the audiance 3 times in the span of 25 minutes that a character is racist, you best believe they are racist. when i first watched Ongezellig, my impression wasn’t that Mymy was racist, but that she was just insensitive and too dumb to realize it. i always thought labeling Mymy as a racist was a misunderstanding of her character, even before Foenkie (and later Massa himself) confirmed that she wasn’t.
