No, from what I read the purpose of the smaller animations are to cultivate a following around the show. Massa was successful in gaining his Ongezellig fanbase. Furthermore, Massa did release deels that were short, around 3-5 minutes long, so he did 'follow' the advice. There is a case to be made that Massa should have made very short animations after deel 6 was released to further expand the audiance base and appeal to studios. The problem was with studios not picking up the project for whatever reason, which Massa had little control over.
