when i first read your plan, i heavily opposed the idea of this becoming a general use imageboard, but you elaborating on what exactly you wanted this website to become did ease my worries a bit. something i like about the Zarty is that its slow pace and overall relaxed atmosphere encourages effort posting, and your idea for an imageboard seems to be one centered around effort posting. 
something i’m still extremely worried about is that changing the site’s theme to a more general one might attract an influx users, and ones who never cared about Ongezellig at that. this might be a controversial opinion, but i’ve never wanted this website to grow, i’ve always wanted it to feel like a tightly knit and comfortable community, and keeping the theme to something as obscure and specific as Ongezellig insured that it’d stay that way. when i post here, i feel like i’m actually contributing to something rather than putting another drop in the ocean.
for this reason, i’d still prefer to keep the site Ongezellig themed, but your alternative isn’t awful.
