technology is not neutral it is a force that shapes society it overrides the pursuit of freedom eliminating the power process and increasingly embedding itself in reality as seen with automobiles which were once optional but became essential (¶125-127) technology imposes socialization (that is the propaganda of its ideals) to maintain the system it is not technology that adapts to humanity but we who adapt to technology and its needs (¶119) the good parts of technology (like medicine) are inseparable because they depend on the entire global technological chain to persist (¶121) technological advancement will sooner or later infiltrate our society as no law lasts long enough to stop it (we tried with nuclear bombs but even today north korea develops new nuclear warheads as does the rest of the world) (¶133) if we adapt to new technologies the system will eventually increase the level of tension until everyone must adapt as surviving such systemic tension becomes impossible (¶156) its growing complexity and resilience prevent reform (¶111-114)
