The country has been slowly dying since then and Siberia will become Chinese clay in the next two decades because what the fuck is Russia going to do about it, everyone is killing themselves or immigrating and they never cared for the region. Outside of major cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ufa, etc.) the country is just a corpse left out to rot in the wind, the only thing that comes close to death of industry and social harmony seen there is the Rust Belt. On top of their policy to Russify minorities and that their glue-and-toothpick infrastructure isn't painted nicely they're pretty much China lite or the new sick man of Europe.
