Maya was born in North Brabant, though is normally referred to as a Belgian by other characters, mainly Mymy. She is multiracial and is of Dutch, Chinese, Indonesian, and Indian origins[1].
Personality
Maya is socially undeveloped and racked with anxiety. She has difficulty interacting with others, especially those outside of her family. Despite being reclusive, she is shown to have a deep desire for connections and envies Coco’s sociability. She has an interest in several different forms of media, including music and video games. She self-inserts in The Sims 4 and watches erotic anime, a sign that she could be using media consumption as a coping mechanism for her loneliness.
