Grim Mymy

Grim Mymy, or Grim, is an artist on /co/ who has gained a lot of notoriety due to his prolificacy and somewhat crude style. In the Ongezellig fandom he’s mostly known for his Ongezellig fanart, which is often more shocking than anything else other artists have mustered up. Grim has posted on soyzellig.party on at least one occasion to show gratitude towards Zaryans’ appreciation of his artwork. He posted under the name “the guy who drew these” and confirmed that he doesn’t have a name for himself. Zoot has confirmed that Grim’s art had an influence on /v/, claiming that “the effect that shows up when you shoot your gun was 100% inspired by grim's artstyle”, although he denied that Grim was the main inspiration behind the game as a whole [1].

Grim Mymy Collection Thread

PinoyGOD had created a thread dedicated to collecting Grim Mymy’s art. The thread was one of the most prominent on /zellig/, but was controversial due to Grim often depicting peccant sexual scenarios, including Mymy raping Cam’s character, Maya praying on and having sex with a child, Studio Massa having intercourse with Mymy’s beheaded corpse, and various depictions of the girls masturbating. Despite the taboo nature of his drawings, the thread managed to stay up for around five months, until one day when Zaryans believed Grim went too far.

Locking of the Thread

On April 16th, 2024, Grim posted sexual art of Maya’s voice actor, Robin Barten, on /co/[2], which was the straw that broke the camel’s back and the thread was locked after a Zaryan made an entire thread complaining about it on /q/. Zaryans criticized the mods’ decision to lock the thread, but Zoot defended the choice, stating that the thread stretched the rules, had become too much of a nuisance, and that its original purpose had been fulfilled long ago anyway.
